Have you gotten tired of the lumpy and dimpled appearance of your skin? Do you want to get rid of the stubborn fat on your thighs, tummy, or other parts of the body? If so, you’re not alone.
Like many women (or even some men), you probably have some cellulite. This rings especially true if you’ve recently gained weight or have been pregnant. Although cellulite doesn’t have any negative health effects, some people still want to improve its appearance to boost their self-esteem and confidence. And if you’re on the same boat, there’s nothing wrong with that.
In response to this need, various medical procedures and treatments have popped up – including lipomassage. This deep massage technique has risen in popularity in recent years, with celebrities singing praises about it left and right. But this begs the question, does it actually work against fat and cellulite?
Read on to find out more about lipomassage.
Lipomassage – also called “Endermologie” or “LPG Endermologie” – refers to a non-invasive treatment designed to reduce or get rid of cellulite. Typically, it’s used as a cellulite treatment for the thighs and butt, but it can also be used on other areas of the body. It’s a 100% natural massage technique that traces its roots to France back in the 1980s.
Aside from being non-invasive, you’ll be glad to know that Endermologie is also safe and effective. Plus, it’s approved by the United States (US) Food and Drug Administration (FDA), giving you peace of mind.
Before diving deeper into the benefits and mechanism of lipomassage, it’s important to understand one concept first: cellulite.
In essence, cellulite refers to the formation of lumps and dimples in the skin, usually in the thighs, buttocks, hips, and abdomen. It’s caused by the accumulation of fat beneath the skin. More specifically, it occurs due to the interaction between the fat cells and the connective tissue (a group of tissues found just below the surface of the skin and above the layer of fat). Due to its appearance, cellulite is sometimes called “cottage cheese” or “orange peel skin.”
Several factors can make a person more predisposed to cellulite, including:
While cellulite can affect both men and women, it’s more prevalent in females, mainly due to the arrangement of fat cells and connective tissue underneath the skin. Furthermore, women’s fat tends to be concentrated in the thighs, hips, and butt – which is where cellulite usually forms.
According to estimates, about 80% to 90% of women may experience this condition at some point in their lives. Some women may be more prone to it than others, depending on the interplay of the previously mentioned factors.
Cellulite is not only very common, but it’s also harmless. Although there’s nothing wrong with having cellulite, many people would prefer to remove it or, at the very least, improve its appearance. Today, there are plenty of treatments meant to remove cellulite – and one of them is LPG Endermologie.
Lipomassage boasts many advantages over other cellulite therapies. As previously mentioned, it’s non-invasive, safe, and FDA-approved. It involves neither incisions nor needles, making it ideal for people who are averse to typical medical or cosmetic procedures. Plus, you won’t have to worry about unwanted side effects that one may get from laser or radio frequencies.
When it comes to eliminating fat, Endermologie boasts many touted benefits – from reducing cellulite to contouring the body and everything else in between. It offers other health advantages, too. We explore the most important ones below.
Perhaps the top benefit of lipomassage is that it can reduce the appearance of cellulite. Although not harmful, having dimpled, bumpy skin can make some people self-conscious and embarrassed. Thankfully, with this massage treatment, you can finally feel a lot more comfortable on your own skin.
More than just improving the appearance of cellulite, lipomassage can actually reduce cellulite and unwanted fats from the body. For this reason, it’s an excellent choice if you have stubborn fats that simply won’t go away – even with diet and regular exercise.
Just know that no treatment can completely get rid of cellulite. With that being said, be wary of anyone who makes such preposterous claims.

By reducing cellulite and getting rid of stubborn fat, lipomassage can aid in contouring and sculpting the body. It can help firm, tighten, and define the body shape as well.
Endermologie involves firm, deep massages, which can do wonders in enhancing blood flow and flushing out toxins from the body. As mentioned earlier, the presence of too many toxins in the system can make you more at risk of getting cellulite.
Aside from improving blood circulation, this deep massage technique can also stimulate the production of collagen. As you may know, collagen is a protein that helps keep the skin elastic and flexible. This, in turn, may help tighten sagging skin, making it more youthful-looking and firmer to the touch.
Another added benefit to lipomassage is that the massage movements can promote lymphatic drainage. In other words, it can improve the way the lymphatic system circulates and transports the lymph through the body, consequently helping in removing toxins and addressing inflammation, along with other benefits. All of this may help with the reduction of cellulite.

Besides targeting fat cells, Endermologie also offers a whole slew of therapeutic benefits. Since it’s a massage and a spa treatment first and foremost, it may be able to provide much-needed relief for muscle spasms, aches, pains, and other minor bodily discomforts. So, if you’re suffering from painful conditions, it can improve your overall quality of life, even if it’s only temporary.
As a bonus, the relaxing nature of massages may also help lower stress and anxiety levels, as well as promote a deep sense of calm. This makes it a perfect treat after a tiring week at work.
Endermologie is well-suited on parts of the body where fat cells tend to build up, and where cellulite usually forms. This includes the thighs, buttocks, legs, and stomach.
Technically speaking, there are no preparations needed for LPG Endermologie. The esthetician will simply provide you with the right garment or suit to protect your skin during the spa treatment while providing comfort and privacy. But for best results, it’s recommended to stay well-hydrated and to engage in physical activity before and after the massage.
During a lipomassage session, a licensed Endermologie technician or therapist will use motorized rollers with suctions to massage the affected areas of the body. The deep massaging motions can help break up, knead, and loosen the trapped pockets of fat underneath the skin. Each session may last anywhere between 35 and 45 minutes. You may experience some minor bruising after the procedure, especially if you have extremely sensitive skin.
It’s important to note that lipomassage doesn’t work instantly. You’ll need multiple treatments for it to take effect, and the results typically last for up to 12 months or even a few years. This can depend on your age, hormones, diet, and lifestyle, alongside other factors.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) is the leading dermatologic association in the US, and one of the most reputable organizations in the world. They’re committed to advancing and upholding the strictest standards in education, research, and clinical practice in dermatology. In line with this vision, AAD has reviewed many of the currently available treatments for cellulite reduction.
AAD notes that while the FDA has approved lipomassage as safe, there’s not enough scientific evidence backing up its effectiveness. This conclusion is echoed in a 2015 review published in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology. This is hardly surprising, given that the clinical studies done on this procedure are few and far between.
However, the available research is promising and worth an exploration.
In one study, 33 healthy women were subjected to lipomassage therapy twice a week for a total of 15 sessions. Researchers relied on digital photography to evaluate cellulite grade or visibility, and perimetric measurements of specific body sites to assess the body contours.
According to the obtained data, all women showed a significant reduction in circumference loss, although only 5 of them (15% of the participants) exhibited an improvement in cellulite appearance. It indicated that lipomassage was well-tolerated and effective in reducing body circumference, but only has a moderate efficacy when it comes to improving the appearance of cellulite.
In a similar study, 118 women received LPG Endermologie treatment twice a week for at least 15 sessions. The clinical evaluation was similar to the previous study, except that the researchers also measured the body weight and body fat percentage of the participants.
Results revealed that 117 patients (99%) experienced a significant loss in body circumference, and 110 subjects (93%) demonstrated a decrease in body fat percentage. Furthermore, 81 patients (69%) reported that they were highly satisfied with the procedure. From these findings, the researchers concluded that lipomassage is a well-tolerated and effective alternative therapy for slimming and body contouring.
Hopefully, as experts study LPG Endermologie more, its efficacy and other benefits will become more recognized and better understood. Likewise, certain technological advancements may also emerge, further boosting the efficacy of this treatment method.
No one wants to have cottage cheese-like skin. Although some are unbothered by it, many people would want to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Lucky for you, there are several cellulite treatment methods available, such as LPG Endermologie. Even better, it’s non-surgical, non-invasive, safe, and FDA-approved. It can also target stubborn fats and even offers several other health benefits.
However, know that cellulite treatments – lipomassage included – is still in their infancy. Hence, clinical studies and research about it remain scarce, especially when it comes to its effectiveness.
Aside from that, you need to remember that everyone is different. How one person responds to LPG Endermologie may be different from how you respond to it. In the end, the only way to truly know if this method works for you is to give it a try. Of course, it’s also important to consult with an expert to know if this treatment is suitable for you.
