What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a machine that can deliver RF Microneedling that uses energy from radiofrequency waves to generate heat. This heat stimulates the body to create new collagen. The microneedles penetrate up to 8mm into the skin’s surface (7mm depth plus 1mm in thermal penetration). Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive, handheld device that can help patients avoid surgery or other invasive procedures while dramatically reducing the look of wrinkles, sagging, loose skin, and acne scarring, and improving the skin’s tone and overall texture.

What is Morpheus8 Prime?

Morpheus8 is a Subdermal Adipose Remodeling Device (SARD) that can encourage collagen production and coagulate (tighten) adipose tissue. This revolutionary skin tightening device has the capability of using 3 different pin sizes, but Morpheus8 Prime uses a 12 pin, the thinnest and least invasive of the pin sizes, to allow the procedure to be used on the most difficult to treat and delicate areas. Morpheus8 Prime can penetrate the dermis 4-5mm deep and can be used on smaller, bony or curved areas such as the periorbital area (around the eye), forehead, nose, chin, upper lip, inner arms, and other delicate regions of the body.

Morpheus8 Prime is a handheld device that is moved in sequence around the face or other body area to be treated. A technician uses the device to inject a series of exceptionally tiny needles into the surface of the skin. The needles penetrate the dermis 4mm and further deliver thermal energy another 1mm.

Morpheus8 Prime vs. Traditional Microneedling

Both Morpheus8 RF Microneedling and traditional microneedling use tiny pins to create a safe skin injury. Unlike a cut or abrasion, the skin injury caused by microneedles is actually beneficial for the skin because it forces the body to initiate a cascade of events to heal the damage. This process helps improve the amount of collagen and elastin our skin is producing, gives the skin added volume where needed, and damages scarred skin to encourage the body to produce new, healthy skin cells in its place.

Morpheus8 Prime goes one step further than basic microneedling and uses radiofrequency thermal energy to increase the size of the area that can be treated and create a more dramatic healing effect. The skin’s healing cascade is made even stronger and more effective by the addition of the thermal injury, giving the skin even more opportunity to produce collagen, elastin, and fresh new healthy cells.

Why do I need Morpheus8 Prime?

As we age, our skin tissue will lose collagen. This is because we stop producing collagen and other proteins that are needed to keep the skin smooth and tight. Loss of proteins leads to sagging, aged skin, bags under the eyes, turkey neck, wrinkles around the lips and eyes, and other signs of aging. If you have acne you may also experience scars, or you may find you have uneven skin tone or texture, hyperpigmentation, or other skin inconsistencies.

Morpheus8 Prime is a non-invasive method of reversing aging and improving the look of scars while also evening out skin tone and texture. Morpheus8 Prime has very few side effects and is effective without the need for recovery or downtime.

When will I see results from Morpheus8?

It generally takes 3-6 weeks before you see any results from a Morpheus8 treatment. Your dermis needs time to heal following your treatment, and it is in this healing process that the magic happens; this is when collagen and elastin production takes place. It is also when the skin’s outer surface naturally sloughs away, giving you an opportunity to see the bright, fresh new cells below the surface.

Results are cumulative however, so the more treatments you have, the better your results will be. Generally, you’ll see the final optimal results of your treatment plan about six weeks following your final treatment.

Are Morpheus8 Prime results permanent?

Morpheus8 Prime results are semi-permanent, meaning they are permanent but subject to the continued effects of aging. Once you’ve had radiofrequency microneedling treatments, your results will remain. However, the body will eventually revert back to creating lower levels of collagen, depending on your age and lifestyle.

Because of this, you will eventually begin to see signs of aging, looser skin, and wrinkles re-forming, but this likely won’t happen for 18-24 months following your treatment plan’s conclusion.

If you are using Morpheus8 Prime to help reduce your acne scars, your results will be permanent so long as you no longer develop new scars.

Can anyone use Morpheus8? Contraindications to Morpheus8 Prime

Radiofrequency microneedling is an FDA-approved treatment that is considered safe for suitable candidates. However, there are a few medical conditions or considerations that may make Morpheus8 Prime a dangerous or potentially harmful treatment for you. Please make sure to inform your aesthetician if any of these conditions or circumstances affect you:

• If you’re currently using Accutane (or only recently stopped)
• If you have an active cold sore breakout
• If you have damaged, broken skin
• If you have any kind of infection
• Have a skin disease or autoimmune disease (such as psoriasis)
• Have cancer or have had cancer
• If you are pregnant or nursing
• If you take blood thinners or blood clotting medication
• If you have a history of keloid scars, hypertrophic scarring, or poor wound healing

Can Morpheus8 be used in combination with other treatments?

Yes, Morpheus8 can be combined with other treatments, however, depending on your skin concerns and goals, it may not be necessary or recommended. The best way to know what’s right for you is to speak to your aesthetician. If we feel your treatment will be most beneficial in combination with other technologies, we will let you know!

Can Morpheus8 be used on different skin types?

Yes, and this is one of the best things about Morpheus8 RF Microneedling. While some people, especially our clients with dark skin tones, can’t use certain lasers for fear of generating dark spots or damage to the skin, Morpheus8 is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types and causes minimal post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

How long is a Morpheus8 Prime treatment?

Your RF Microneedling treatment at Solea will last 30-45 minutes. We will fully cleanse and prepare your skin for treatment, apply the microneedling device, and finish by thoroughly cleansing your skin and protecting it from damage post-treatment.

How many Morpheus8 treatments are needed?

The number of treatments recommended to you is directly related to your skincare goals and the severity of your skin concerns. With that in mind, it is impossible to provide an answer that is correct for everyone, since everyone’s skin is unique.

However, generally speaking, our clients usually require 2-4 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
